Key lessons from Article 6 pilot activities

Jun 4, 2019 @ 10:45 - 11:45

The Paris Agreement established a future for carbon markets under Article 6. While the rulebook is still being negotiated, pilot activities around the world are offering first lessons to take into account in the operationalization.

This workshop addressed key stakeholders interested in Article 6 piloting and results-based climate finance from both buyer and seller countries. The session was organized jointly by Perspectives Climate Group, representing the Climate Finance Innovators Project, by South Pole and the World Bank.

Perspectives shared observations and lessons learned from Article 6 readiness and piloting in low-income countries in Africa and LDCs.

South Pole presented key considerations from middle-income countries with a focus on piloting activities in Colombia.

The World Bank discussed sub-regional aspects of the piloting activities.
