Piloting Article 6 carbon market cooperation – additionality and methodological issues

This workshop discusses key Article 6 issues for resolution at COP25. Under Article 6, crediting transformative/sectoral activities becomes important. This new setting impacts how environmental integrity can be ensured through robust additionality determination and baseline setting. Latin American government representatives and international experts will present insights from Article 6 pilots and discuss: How does the NDC influence Article 6 additionality and baseline establishment in order to promote increased ambition and environmental integrity? How can existing tools such as CDM methodologies serve as building blocks for emerging mechanisms? What lessons can be drawn from Article 6 pilots regarding these topics?
