While Article 6 was the only item not finalized during COP24, Parties have made significant progress over the latest negotiation rounds to structure the new carbon market rules and to tackle the remaining technical intricacies of the mechanisms.

This period of uncertainty has also given rise to a number of initiatives that aim to test and prepare for these new rules and that already offer vital insights into the potential implementation of Article 6.
